ABOUT THE WEBSITE

This website is a relaunched version of Mahjong-BritishRules.com.
It contains the same information, but has some reductions in functionality to make the website less dependent on me going forward.

MahjongBritishRules.wordpress.com is a free WordPress site that comes with some downsides:

  • There will be some adverts (the content of which I have no control over) with one from from WordPress.com at the top of the window.
  • This new site does not support my sales of laminated playing aids but you can still obtain playing aids from my Mahjong Zazzle store.
  • The online calculators are not not supported but will continue while Mahjong-BritishRules.com exists.
  • The ‘Contact’ page now only allows questions about the BMJA rules and more general ones about the website.

Mahjong-BritishRules.com was itself a relaunch of my original website, http://www.MahjongBritishRules.com . This was published in October 2008.

This was based on the 3rd (2008) edition of the book “Mah-Jong (Know the Game)” by Gwyn Headley and Yvonne Seeley, which explains the British Mah-Jong Association (BMJA) rules.

The original website was endorsed by the authors, who have since advised me on the various clarifications to the rules which are included here.

Whilst I have endeavoured to make the explanation of the BMJA rules as clear as possible (and have consulted extensively with the authors), any misunderstandings that arise are entirely my responsibility.

Clubs & Contacts updated. Mah-Jong websites updated.
Capitalisation of Mah-Jong terms and references to suit tiles now consistent with that used in “Mah-Jong (Know the Game)”.
Can now purchase my book and playing aid directly from website, also other playing aids from my Zazzle store
